Federal Work Study
Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the recipient’s course of study. To be considered students need to complete their FAFSA by the Priority filing deadline. Work study funds are paid biweekly based on the number of hours that are worked and the total award amount.
SNAP Food Assistance
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides assistance during the COVID19 health emergency to eligible students, those enrolled at least half time, eligible to participate in the Federal Work Study program and have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $0 to buy everyday food items, fruits, and vegetables. If approved for SNAP benefits, you will receive a debit card that you can use to pay for these items.
Applying for benefits is confidential, easy to complete, and the instructions are a click away on our NJSNAP Food Assistance page.
